Earlier, Norman announced 15 players who will come to Tiburón Golf Club and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples November 9-13. Added Monday were Paul Azinger, Olin Browne, Jay Haas, Tim Herron, Peter Jacobsen, Mark O'Meara and Loren Roberts.
With 22 players committed, two spots remain for the 12-team, 24-player field vying for a record $2.6 million purse.
"We are delighted to once again have an outstanding collection of players supporting this event," Norman said. "I was excited when we announced the earlier group of players, and with the additions we have today I believe we have a tremendous blend of talent. The fans in South Florida are in for a treat once again this year."
The latest group includes a wonderful mix of current Tour winners, another newcomer to the Shootout, local flavor and past Shootout champions.
Champions this year include Browne, who captured the Deutsche Bank Championship Labor Day weekend for his third Tour victory. This past weekend at the Bell Canadian Open Mark Calcavecchia, who was previously announced as a Shootout participant, made it back-to-back victories on Tour for Shootout competitors.
Roberts has enjoyed a successful summer on the Champions Tour. He became eligible for the senior circuit June 24 and a month later won the Jeld-Wen Tradition, a Champions Tour major.
Herron and colorful Brit Ian Poulter will be making their first Shootout appearances, while past champions Haas and O'Meara eagerly await their return. Bonita Springs, Fla., resident Peter Jacobsen is second only to Norman with 15 Shootout appearances.
Among those who previously committed are seven major champions that have combined for 11 major titles including tournament host Norman, who is joined by Nick Price, John Daly, Fred Couples, Steve Elkington, Jeff Sluman and Calcavecchia.
Also among the early commitments were Kenny Perry, twice a winner on the PGA Tour this season, reigning Players Champion Fred Funk and Adam Scott, presently No. 7 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Others who have indicated they will join in the effort to raise funds and awareness for CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation include Stewart Cink, Hank Kuehne, Scott Hoch and Scott McCarron.
Sluman and Kuehne will attempt to become the first team in Shootout history to win three consecutive titles. A year ago, they became just the second team to successfully defend their title. Brad Faxon and McCarron managed that feat in 2000 and 2001.
Six of those who have committed will participate in The Presidents Cup in two weeks. Representing the United States team are Cink, Couples, Funk, Perry and Sluman, who will serve as Jack Nicklaus' assistant captain. Scott will be a member of the International Team.
