NAPLES, Fla. - Scott Hoch and Kenny Perry made an eagle and seven birdies on Saturday, giving them the lead after two rounds at The Franklin Templeton Shootout.
The pair shot a 9-under 63 in the better ball format, giving them a one-stroke lead over two-time champions Brad Faxon and Scott McCarron heading into Sunday's final-round scramble.

PGA champion Shaun Micheel and Tour Championship winner Chad Campbell are tied for third with John Cook and Mark O'Meara.
Sunday's winners split $550,000 from the $2.4 million purse.
On the par-5 14th, Hoch hit his second shot, a 3-wood, into the trees on the left. Perry, whose drive was in a fairway bunker, hit a poor shot into the water. After taking a drop, he hit his 3-wood in trouble as well and picked up.
After checking his options, Hoch decided his best choice was to go in and try to hit his ball. He got on his knees, with the 4-iron turned around backward and took a hockey slap shot-type swing.
"I just played it like I was hitting a right-handed shot," Hoch said.
The ball went 30 feet, over a cartpath and up near the green. Hoch eventually made the par.
"That was pretty key because you don't want to bogey a par-5," he said.
"I thought he won the golf tournament for us," Perry said.
Perry, who must catch a flight after Sunday's round to meet up with the rest of the U.S. Presidents Cup team, made a 30-footer from off the green for birdie on 15, a 15-footer for birdie on 17 and then a 20-footer to birdie the finishing hole.
