Play-Day Big Hit With Shootout Volunteers | |
NAPLES, Fla. -- Volunteers of the 2005 Merrill Lynch
Shootout were treated to a special day of golf, camaraderie and recognition
Monday at Tiburon Golf Club.

Following a scramble tournament, which was held on
Tiburón's Gold Course, volunteers were invited to the clubhouse for an
awards reception that included prizes, raffles and a special message from
Greg Norman.
In keeping with the spirit of the Shootout and its
contributions to children's charities, this was the third consecutive year
that volunteers supported the local Toys For Tots campaign. Hundreds
of toys were collected at Tiburon during the Play-Day and later donated to
Toys For Tots.
"Each year we are impressed by the amount of community
support and caring that surrounds this event," said Taylor Ives, Tournament
Director of The Franklin Templeton Shootout. "Today's collection of toys is
just another example of how our volunteers give of themselves to help those
less fortunate, not only in our own backyard but across the country as
well."
Thanks go to all of the dedicated volunteers that make
the Shootout possible each year. Their support and contributions to the
event allow the tournament to make a significant impact on a number of
deserving charities.
