Scott Stallings to Partner with Kenny Perry
NAPLES, Fla. (December 5, 2011) - J.B. Holmes, who was scheduled to play with fellow Kentucky native Kenny Perry, has withdrawn from this week's Franklin Templeton Shootout. Scott Stallings will now team with Perry.
"It is with great disappointment that I have elected to withdraw from this year's Franklin Templeton Shootout," said Holmes. "While I continue to make great strides in my recovery from surgery for Chiari Malformation, I am not 100% and I think it would be a disservice to my partner, Kenny Perry, and the entire Franklin Templeton Shootout organization for me to play at less than full capacity. I want to thank Greg Norman and the folks at Franklin Templeton for the invitation and I look forward to the opportunity to compete here in the future."
Stallings, winner of The Greenbrier Classic in July, will be competing in his first Franklin Templeton Shootout. Perry, who has won two Shootouts, will be playing in his ninth consecutive. Perry won with John Huston in 2005 and with Scott Hoch in 2008.
The three-day, two-man team competition, which includes Modified-Alternate shot, Better Ball and Scramble, begins this Friday. The event will be broadcast on Golf Channel Friday and on NBC during the weekend.
Tickets for the Franklin Templeton Shootout are now on sale. Orders can be placed several ways: by calling 888-66-SHARK, online at www.franklintempletonshootout.com or by visiting the PGA TOUR Superstore in Naples, Lumpy’s in Ft. Myers or The Golf Shop at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.
