NAPLES, Fla. (August 18, 2011) - Franklin Templeton and tournament host Greg Norman announced today an agreement in which Franklin Templeton Investments will be the title sponsor of Southwest Florida's PGA TOUR event. The agreement covers the 2011 and 2012 events.

The Shootout, which has been a mainstay on the TOUR for 22 years, will return to Naples for an 11th year December 7-11 at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort. The event raises funds and awareness for a variety of local and national charities.

Franklin Templeton was the title sponsor of the Shootout from 1992 through 2005 and has been a corporate partner since the Shootout's inception.

Throughout its history, the Shootout has included many of golf's greatest players. The field will consist of 24 professionals paired into 12 two-man teams. Widely regarded as the PGA TOUR's premier post-season event, the Franklin Templeton Shootout will once again feature a modified alternate-shot format during the first round, a better ball Saturday and a final-round scramble. This year, Golf Channel will televise Friday and NBC will broadcast the weekend competition.

From September 2-5, WCI Communities will offer golfers the opportunity to honor the sacrifices of American heroes. Patriot Golf Day, the primary fundraiser for the Folds of Honor Foundation , is an annual event to raise money for post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. The mission of Folds of Honor is to help ensure that no family is left behind in the field of battle by honoring their sacrifice and educating their legacy.

Saturday, September 3: For the cost of a round of golf and a $10 donation, golfers can take part in a Patriot Golf Day Flag Tournament. For the price of a round of golf plus a minimum $10 donation, players compete for prizes and, with a hole-in-one, could win a two-year lease on a BMW from BMW of Fort Myers.
Sunday, September 4: Closest-to-the-Pin Contest.
