Final Event Recap

The 1st annual Shark Shootout Summer Series has come to a close! The summer series was a tremendous success with over two hundred golfers competing in five events for a grand prize experience! Winners of this year's Shark Shootout Summer Series were Bill Soll, Gavin Gillette, Travis Merrick, and Nigel Wong - Congratulations!

For their efforts, the Summer Series winners received:

  • Inside the Ropes Experience at this year's Franklin Templeton Shootout
  • Invitation to attend the Pro-Am Pairings Party
  • Two (2) memberships to the Greg Norman Estates Shark Club

The Greg Norman Production Company team would like to thank all those who helped make the first year a great success! We look forward to the 2nd annual Summer Series next year!

Event 4 Recap

The fourth event of the Shootout Summer Series had another great showing on Saturday as 37 teams competed at Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club in Naples. After recently reopening, the course was in great condition and the competition was fierce as event participants looked to move into the top 4 in the series standings with only one event to go.

After a solid day of golf the results were as follows:

In addition to the team competition, the following participants took home an addition prize in the Closest to the Pin contest!

With only one event remaining, the point’s race is really heating up! Check below for the latest results and see where you stand for the grand prize! The final Summer Series event will be held on October 15th at Tiburón Golf Club. This event will be an 8:30am Shotgun start. Sign up today to reserve your team’s spot as the final event is going to be a sell-out.

Due to the high demand of this final event, teams must pay in full prior to the event to be guaranteed a spot.

Event 3 Recap

The Shootout’s Summer Series continued its success at Raptor Bay Golf Club in Bonita Springs this past weekend as a field of 100 participants gathered for a great day of golf. Unfortunately after 6 holes, play was suspended due to heavy rains and a rain delay began. 30 minutes thereafter, play was cancelled for the day due to inclement weather.

Although the golf portion was cancelled, 33 participants walked away with a variety of prizes from complimentary rounds of golf to Clubhouse tickets to this year’s Franklin Templeton Shootout. Along with the prizes, each participant received 25 points toward their series total in the race for the Summer Series grand prize.

The next stop for the Summer Series is September 17th at Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club. Register online today for the 1:00pm shotgun start and continue earning points toward the grand prize of the Summer Series --- an Honorary Observer Experience at The Shootout, tickets to the exclusive Franklin Templeton Shootout Pairings Party and passes for the Shootout’s premier 18th hole hospitality venue, The Shark Club!

Event 2 Recap

The Shark Shootout Summer Series continued its success this past weekend at The Colony Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs. After a strong turnout at the inaugural event, the second tournament saw over 50 teams participate, marking the first sell-out of the series! Modeled after the Shootout, participants competed in two-person teams and played three different formats --- 6 holes of Modified-Alternate Shot, 6 holes of Better Ball and 6 holes of Scramble.

Continuing their stellar play in the series, the team of Scott Zedeker and Philip Reyburn fired a 67 to earn their second straight win in the gross division. In the net division, the team of Jim & Michael Marcelak recorded an impressive score of 63 to claim victory for the first time.

For their efforts, both teams were awarded complimentary passes to The Franklin Templeton Shootout’s Collier Club, an upgraded hospitality suite located between the 8th & 17th holes, along with gift certificates from the Summer Series’ newest sponsor – The Capital Grille. In total, Capital Grille awarded more than $850 in gift certificates to the top three teams in each division.

With three events to go the overall points race is heating up. Zedeker & Reburn have a commanding lead in the gross division after their second victory in as many weeks while the net division is wide open with different winners in each of the first two weeks. The chase is on to capture the Grand Prize of the Ultimate Franklin Templeton Shootout package. This exclusive package includes an “Inside The Ropes Experience” at the 2011 Franklin Templeton Shootout, invitations to The Franklin Templeton Shootout Pairings Party and weekend memberships to the Greg Norman Estates Shark Club.

The Summer Series will make its next stop at Raptor Bay Golf Club on Saturday, August 20th at 1:00 pm. Sign up today to reserve your team’s spot as the third tournament of the series is sure to be another sell-out!

Event 1 Recap

The Shark Shootout Summer Series got off to a strong start this past Saturday at Pelican Preserve Golf Club in Ft. Myers as more than 70 players competed in the first event of the inaugural series. Modeled after the Shootout, participants competed in two-person teams and played three different formats --- 6 holes of Modified-Alternate Shot, 6 holes of Better Ball and 6 holes of Scramble.

Claiming victory in the first event was the team of Scott Zedeker and Philip Reyburn who defeated a competitive field with a gross score of 64. In the net division, Nancy Hersey and Diane Dodge recorded a score of 63 for the win. Along with the 1st place winners, Bill Soll is among the five competitors currently tied for first place in the Summer Series point standings.

The ultimate highlight of the event goes to Frank Aiello who recorded the Summer Series’ first Hole-in-One! Congratulations Frank!

As a 1st place prize, the teams of Zedeker & Reyburn and Hersey & Dodge won complimentary passes to The Franklin Templeton Shootout’s Collier Club – an upgraded hospitality suite located between the 8th & 17th holes on Tiburón’s Gold Course.

The Summer Series’ next stop will be The Colony Golf & Country Club on Saturday, July 16th at 1:00 pm.
